Using list from a top level site in the subsite

    Hi,

I have created a list at top level site and was hoping to use it at subsite level, but when I am not able to see this list at sub site level, am I missing any persmissions or settings? What do I need to do to view the list at subsite level?

    Thank you,

Depends what you want to do at the top level? If you want to access lists at the top level then use this:

In sharepoint designer, in the Data Source Library panel, use the "Connect to another library..." option and add the top level site. Once you have done this look in the data source library and you should have the top level site as an option in there, expand it and you can access all it's lists and libraries.

I am trying to display a list created at top level site in my subsite; can I connect to another library from web browser editing?

    I really don't think so.
