I'm running into a strange problem. It seems kind of random but sometimes, overnight, some of my dataviews will stop working. The dataviews that stop are very particular though and are the same ones each time. To fix I just run an iisreset on the server and all is well again. It's happening 2 or 3 times a week. The feature that each of these dataviews have in common is I am filtering them using a standard asp text box. I used sharepoint designer to create this and used no code.
When it's working properly the dataview comes up with the list prefiltered with the default value of the text box. Then users can type into the text box to filter the list. Simple right? When it doesn't work the list comes up empty right from the start and searching also comes up empty. I would then run an iisreset on the the server and then everything is all fine again until it happens the next time.
I checked the event viewer on the server to see if anything stands out and I couldn't find anything. It's a single server install with both MOSS and SQL 2005. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
If you're not part of the solution, there may be good money to be made in prolonging the problem.
