Hello,

I want to develop a webpart for wss 3.0.
So i installed visual studio 2005 on my windows xp system.
Now i wanted to instal the templates for sharepoint webpart, but the instal gives a message that i need to install vs2005.
I've been reading on the net and found that you can change some registerkey's so you can install the templates.
The problem is that the installed templates aren't available in vs2005.

Can anyone helpe me?
I'm i doing some thing completely wrong?

Install the framework 1.
copy from the server the SharePoint.dll maybe located on C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\12\ISAPI and place it on your computer anywere and reference it form your visual studio project. 

But I recomend that you should to install the visual studio directly on the server and develop your webparts over there. finally install the Visual Studio 2005 Extensions for Windows SharePoint Services Version 1.1 CPT 
now I'm developing webparts via terminal "mstsc /console" .
