Im about to join my SharePoint 2007 EE Server which sits in an V.M. to an external bank domain. The Bank does not hold its employee's organizational structure to an AD. Instead it holds it in an HR legacy Clipper Application that extracts its contents into an SQL 2005 database. Dont ask...Im called in for the rescue. I have to import all the user IDs into my SharePoint Server via this database. Then i have to inport these users into my workflows so that evry organization change that happens has to be reflected into my SharePoint via frequent SQL database importing. Does anyone have a clue? From what i understand I have to create a new database connection form my ShareServices Administration User profiles and properties. And where does Business Data Catalogue come into play? Does anyone know if this is the right path? Has anyone experience on importing users via an external Data source?
