    WSS 3.0 List Edit

I have a list that we use quite a bit. Now, after using it for several months, when someone clicks on one of the items for editing it comes up blank. I have exported the list to a spreadsheet and imported it on a test server and the problem goes away, but I lose all the costum settings to the list, and it is a huge list.

Does anyone one know what would cause editing to show nothing?

There is a preferred limit to the number of items in a list or documents in a library: between 1500 and 2000. Anything else will typically bring the system to its knees. This was confirmed by Lawrence Liu at a meeting last month. His suggestion was to create views of subsets of your larger list and don't use the View All Documents view. The MS team is aware of the limitations and are looking at a solution.

This might not be what your problem is, but when you said "huge", it set off alarm bells.

    Regards,
