    People Search no longer working

Hello - We recently upgraded from SPS 2003 to MOSS 2007.  The migration went well (content db migration), and everything worked great after we got things settled down. However, we were asked to do the branding, and as a part of this, change our URLs for both the main portal and the mysites.  As I've read that others have experienced, our alerts ceased to work.  We have fixed that problem by changing the URLs in the tables where the alert URL was saved.  So far, so good.  Now our problem is that People search has ceased to work.  When I look at the People search scope, it has "0" as the number of items.  When we search on People, we get the following result:

System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at System.Xml.XmlNode.RemoveChild(XmlNode oldChild) at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.WebControls.PeopleCoreResultsWebPart.DeleteElementAddToMyColleaguesURL(XmlNode result) at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.WebControls.PeopleCoreResultsWebPart.CreateXmlDocument() at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.WebControls.PeopleCoreResultsWebPart.SortBySocialDistance() at Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.WebControls.PeopleCoreResultsWebPart.GetXPathNavigator(String viewPath)

I've poked around a bit, but can't find anyplace in these pages where the old URL might be located.  Don't know of anything else to try at this point.  Any ideas?  Thanks in advance for your help, Jim

Your people search should rely on your old link.

Check your SSP and verify that your crawling AD to gather users and doing profile imports.

Were you able to resolve this issue, and if so, how?  I have the same issue in one of my farms, and can't seem to find a resolution.  I also see this issue mentioned in a thread over on the MSDN forums without any resolution yet.
