We are about to publish our new website using the publishing portal on Sharepoint 2007, and need to setup 301 permanent redirects for content that has been moved to another server, and to pass on our ranking in search engines onto the new site, and of course the new architecture is different from the old directory structure! I read somewhere that we should not interact directly with IIS on sharepoint installations; is this true? If so, can anyone please tell me how to redirect at least my main previous URLs?
By the way, the old site was not based on sharepoint (html + cfm files), Therefore, the old urls include some with .html extension;
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
