    I broke Windows Integrated Authentication

    Hi,
I wonder if someone can help with a really aggravating problem which I caused myself... I had a perfectly functioning SPS 2007 company intranet running, using windows integrated authentication,  until I installed a 3rd party web part that looks like it has screwed with default permissions or service accounts.

I'm now getting a prompt to authenticate, and even when supplying valid domain credentials, I'm getting a "you are not authorised to view this page" error.  I can still browse to the site via IIS console, and have checked that Windows authentication is selected for the site, plus the Central Admin site.  All relevant app pools are running under the "Network Service" context, although I suspect that one or more of these was changed to a domain account when I installed the 3rd party product...

I know the answer is probably basic, but can someone please point me in the right direction to correct (what I'm guessing) is IIS configuration?

    thanks,
    Steve.

    hi steve

what are the steps you have followed to use that webpart?

Have you checked the configuration file of your site where any thridparty webparts needs to be declared as Safe controls.

One of the approach which helped me is creating a sample site where you can first test the webpart ,before actually using it on live

    environment.

Also the webpart you are using is developed in sps 2003 or moss 2007.

    thnx
