Hello, i have setup WSS 3.0 and i want to create a document library, containing Financial documents, than only a few (4) users can access.

The problem is that EVERYONE has access to the documents and i cant find where i can assign security rights to this document library in WSS.

Please help!! This is a very vital feature!!

Open the document library and then click on Settings > Library Settings. On this page, under the Permissions and Management column locate Permissions for this document library. Choose actions > edit permissions. Remove the users/groups that do not need access to this library.

NOTE: Be sure you are a site collection administrator, are explicitly named or in a group assigned to this library or you may also loose access to the library if your name or a group containing your name is removed.

i've done that..but no joy..everyone can still see the document library..some can even delete it!!

yikes...thats very scary..

We had this discussion with someone else last week. If this is a recurring issue, it's just starting to surface. Check out this set of posts. I don't think the issue was ever resolved. If you could document your processes for us here, as described in the other post, it would be helpful for all.
