New column doesn't show up in New/Edit Item Form

    New column doesn't show up in New/Edit Item Form

     I have a custom list with many columns and views. But I needed to add a new column, so I did so in "Modify Column settings..etc". New column DOES show up in the default view, and I can even edit in through data-sheet view. But whenever I try to edit an existing item through Edit Form, field is not there. Also when I try to add a new item, column does not show up in New Item Form. I can only edit it through data sheet view.

    One more interesting thing - the order of fields/columns in the New/Edit Item Form is not consistent with the one in "Modify setting and columns">>"Change the order of the fields". Certain fields show on earlier place than they should...

     can't delete this thread....but anyway, problem is sorted now - my NewForm.aspx and EditForm.aspx were customized(edited) in FP, that's why it wouldn't add a new field there...

    I have the exact same issue but cannot resolve it. What does customized (edited) in FP mean? What does FP stand for?

    Can you show and hide Edit form based on user role?
