    Sql Data Questions

I'm a beginner in the sharepoint arena and I had a couple of questions concerning Sql data and and Sharepoint.

I am currently running Sharepoint Server 2007 Enterprise and Sql Server 2005 on a development box.  I have been playing a bit with the business data catalog features including the BCD definition editor.  I'm liking what I see, so far but I haven't seen any good examples as to how to update data back in our sql tables.  I know it is possible I just haven't had much luck finding information on it.  What we would really like to do in organization is be able to fill lists with data from sql and permit the lists to have new records added to them as well.  Along with the usual filling of comboboxes and user controls.  If any body could point me to some good code samples and/or data tutorials in working with all aspects of data management in sharepoint.  We don't want to have to fill all of our existing data into sharepoint tables and we would like it if certain data is stored in our tables so we get total control and not in the sharepoint tables.

I'm a .Net developer by trade so writing code isn't an issue so I am sure it is possible using the api.

    Thanks,

    ~Justin

Have you looked at the newest version of the SDK?  I know there are a bunch of examples of how to do things with the BDC that were added.  I haven't gotten to that point with MOSS, but it might be a spot worth starting if you haven't
