    Customize Absence & Vacation template

I have run into a snag using the Absence & Vacation request template from microsoft.

I am attempting to customize the page for creating a new Absence list item. All the links to invoke this page point to /Lists/Absences/NewForm.aspx but when I open this page in SPD or VS2005, this is clearly not the page that the links invoke. I cant seem to find where this page is located to make any changes and feel like I must be missing something obvious. Does anyone know where I would look to find this page? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Clay,

I am having the same problem as you.  I am trying to setup a workflow for the New Absence list item and I cannot open it in SPD.  If you've had any luck with this please let me know.  I have checked everywhere and have three books in front of me.

     Anyone, please help us.............

Ok, good news first; I found some links on customizing the pages I was mentioning. Its not exactly what I would have called intuitive but here you go.

     http://blah.winsmarts.com/2007-5-Customize_the_-and-quot;NewFormaspx-and-quot;_page_for_a_SharePoint_List.aspx

    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/sharepointdesigner/HA101191111033.aspx

The bad news second; In my case, I need to remove the ability to select the hours and minutes from the form, just as if the "All Day Event" checkbox was selected. I have yet to figure out a reasonable way to handle that task. If anyone has any recommendations on how to handle that, please let me know. I hope this information was actually helpful to some of you.
