How to Delete / Manage sites under My SharePoint Sites ???

    Hi,

If i have access to many sharepoint sites, under my SharePoint sites I can view all the sites. I need to know How to Delete/Manage sites which are shown under My SharePoint Sites. To Elaborate on this. To the right site top corner, My Links--> My SharePoint Sites-->

If you click the link my sites, there is a link that is called "manage links" Here you can delete/manage all your links

    Hi,

That can delete/manage all your links only the added links, not the links that appear in the My SharePoint Sites.

Isn't a "my" Sharepoint site build from membership? So you have to be a member of the site to enlist it as a link. Maybe you can remove the membership from that site, then it should remove the link too? This is just a thought that popped in maybe I'm looking at the wrong thing (again)

By removing membership from the sites removes the list of sites in the "My SharePoint Sites". But I need to be the member of the sites listed under "My SharePoint Sites". To make this very simple I can give a senario.

When navigating to My Links -> My Sharepoint Sites, I see a list of sharepoint sites that I am a member of. One of the sites on the list is "Main Site" - of which I am the author/owner. However, I also see the sub-sites of the "Main Site" site - such as Subsite1, subsite2, subsite3 etc. on the list. This doesn't seem desirable. Is there a setting that I can use so the sub-site does not appear in the My Sharepoint Sites list?

If you look at the image below: Do you mean the link in the right top corner? The weird thing is when I click that link I don't get My sharepointsites:S very strange.

It's also so weird, I'm working with a colleague on a Sharepoint project. But we have never seen that "my sharepoint sites" feature. Is it an add-on feature or was it already there?

I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

The only thing I can recommend here is do not add your users to the default "<SiteName> Members" group of the sub-sites.  Instead, either a) create a new group and add your users there, or b) add the users explicitly to the site itself (no group).

The "My SharePoint Sites" is completely based off the memberships of a SharePoint site and you really have no more control over it besides taking a person out of the "members" group.

More explaination can be found here: http://liebrand.wordpress.com/2007/11/29/moss-2007-and-user-memberships/
