Any body know, Is it possible to search and open documents residing in other remote Sharepoint server through internet or WAN from my Sharepoint server having permission for accessing the Remote Sharepoint Server.

Yes, if you add the remote SharePoint Server in the search scopes you will be able to search and open documents.  If you want a rollup type of webpart that display's documents from the Remote server no.

Thanks Jeremy for the quick response.Can u please post an article(link) describing how to add remote sharepoint server in the search scopes.Actually I add the url of remote Sharepoint server in the search scope.It is not working..Thanks in advance.

 After putting it into the search scope, you will need to re-crawl everything (which could take a while as it is a new site).  You will also need to setup a Content Source in the crawling section of the search settings.  You will then need to re-crawl that as well.  Once those are done, you should be able to search.  Sometimes it may take sometime to crawl a site, so be patient.  In fact, you can also do this to a competitors site or any web site on the Internet.
