How to display a list of Wiki Articles?

I'm just getting started with customizing MOSS on our Intranet. I'm a power user/content editor, not a systems guy or developer.

I created a Wiki. I'm now trying to add a Web Part that lists the articles/pages in the Wiki -- an Index of sorts.

I thought I could do that with the Content Query Tool. In fact, I did do it, but it lists the filenames including the aspx extension, which is undesirable.

My Query is set up for:
       Source="From the following list"
List Type of "Wiki Page Library"
Content Type of "<All Content Types>."

I tried various content type scenarios, but this is the only way I could get it to display anything.

What can I do? Is there a better Web Part to use or a different way to configure it?

     Thanks,

One way we have done it is to just add the list view via a web part on the front page by simply editing the page, clicking Add a Web Part in one of the zones, and selecting the Wiki list from the list of items on the site. The default view will be a list of the pages showing the Name, but of course you can add/remove columns that exist for the library.

    Dggcoop:

Thank you for the reply. I wonder if maybe I'm missing a "Wiki List" Web Part. In my list of Web Parts on the main Wiki page, I don't have anything called "Wiki List."

     Am I understanding correctly?

    Thanks again,

You probably created a Wiki Site instead of a Wiki Page Library. The Wiki Page Library gives you the Web Part you are looking for while the other one does not.

Amuro Ray is correct in that a Page Library and Site are different animals. However, if you created a Wiki site, then the front page already contains the Wiki Pages web part by default. The Wiki Pages web part shows the pages contained on the site. If you have created a Wiki site, and not a library, and for some reason the Wiki Pages web part is not showing up on the site's home page, you can add it back.

If you created a library, you would add the web part just like you would add any other web part. It would be under the Lists and Libraries heading within the "Add Web Parts -- Web Page Dialog" screen and would be named whatever you named it upon creation of the Wiki Library.

Dggcoop and Amuro Ray -- you two are awesome. Thank you!

First, I didn't realize I had options for either creating a Wiki Page Library and a Wiki Site. I guess I'm still too new and too seat-of-the-pants to understand the significance of this. For that matter, I'm having trouble seeing which one it is and wondering what the benefit of the other would be. Hmmm...

Anyway, either way, I overlooked the fact that I had a Web Part that was named the same as my Wiki. I added that, customized it, and voila! I have my idex. Thank you so much!

Idea Well, it shows up under "Site Libraries and Lists," so I assume it's a Library.
