Hi,

We've setup a discussion board for a group of 30 people and we want following:

1. When ever someone adds a post, an e-mail notification should go to all 30 members.

2. When someone replies to a post, an e-mail notification should go to the creator of the post.

How can this be done? I'm using MOSS 2007.

The first could be implemented by choosing "Alert Me" from "Action" menu in the topic page, which could respond to any change of the whole discussion board scope.

For second question, you could do the same on post scope manually by following "view properties"->"Alert Me",.....if you want to monitor each post automatically, maybe you should change the "Alert Title" in SubNew.aspx files(But I haven't tried).

Somehow this is not working.

When I set the first option, it send e-mails to all even if one replies to someone's post.

 Did you choose the options in "changing type" ?

I thought what you need is an advanced Alert which can set customized sending conditions and self-defined email contents.

Maybe this can help you, and it also provide extended send-to targets which include email address and user-represented columns.
