Permanently delete a user (user still appears in search result)

     Hi

Recently we have changed the AD from OLD_DOMAIN to NEW_DOMAIN. The users have been moved from OLD_DOMAIN\userA to NEW_DOMAIN\userA. I am not importing users from OLD_DOMAIN anymore and I have delete the user profiles in the shared services and the users from site collections, groups, site permissions...

When I do a search in "userA" it appears a bunch of results from OLD_DOMAIN\userA. It even appears the link to "My Site" for OLD_DOMAIN\userA profile (when pressing it, it gives a sharepoint error "file not found").

How can I get rid of OLD_DOMAIN\userA ?

    (btw, MOSS 2007 / WSS3.0)

Any help will be very appreciated! THANK YOU!

Hi Guys, I have the similar problem as follows.

I have deleted user profile from the AD

I have also deleted user from Sharepoint user profile.

But when I am putting the name of that particular person in peoplesearch then still the search result shows the profile of that person.

How can I remove it from search result after deleting from AD as well as from Sharepoint user profile.

To rmove from the search result go to search setting on SSP and click on Reset all crawled content. and do the full crawl again for the new search to populate
