I have a problem with search on my 2 front end webservers. The web servers are in a load balanced enviroment. Everything was working fine till last week when 1 server (second server) failed. When we brought the server back online the search functionality on the working server (first server) did not work anymore. On the second server (the one that did break down) everything is working fine.
Now I want that my users can search, but only when the users are send to the second server via the load balanceing they can perform search actions.
The Office SharePoint Server Search is set to index and query and I know that that can be done on only one server in the farm. So I put the querying down on the second server and try to bring it back on the first server. But now the hole search functionality is gone. So I put the configuration back, but can't find any information on this.
Everything seems to be configured properly, has anyone had the same issue before and maybe has a solution for this. I really don't want to install the hole server again.
