Content Types and The "New" Button

    HI,

My company has recently started developing our intranet in Moss 2007. We have created a number of team sites and relevant content types. The problem is that not every content type relates to a document template and when I switch off the visibility using the "Change New Button Order and Default Content Type" I seem to lose the content type drop down selector upon document save, or uploading new documents.

Is there anyway to have content types that do not automatically display under the New button in a document library?

    Thanks.

You should be able to control the content types in the "New" list by adding any content types you want to be associated with your document library. In the document library's settings choose "enable management of content types". Then you will see a list of content types available for your doc lib on the document library settings page. Then you can add all the content types you like.

I'm not 100% sure I understood the question... if this isn't quite on track then let me know.
