    Can I create my own .net data entry froms and route them using Workflow Foundation within SharePoint as a substitute for InfoPath forms?   I would like to avoid the cost of the enterprise version just for this functionality.  Worst case I figure I can generate a word template and route that.

    looks like rshelton.com has a blog on this matter.  I plan to give that a run and see if I can use a .net form rather than infopath.

    Yes. You should be able to do that. The integration back into SharePoint could be a little more work than a regular InfoPath form.
