Could not start the Windows Sharepoint Services Administration service on Local Computer

    Could not start the Windows Sharepoint Services Administration service on Local Computer

    We have MOSS 2007, WSS 3.0 on Windows 2003 R2. We had a successfull installation of MOSS 2007 and everything was working fine. But now when we try to restart the Windows Sharepoint Central administration services via SERVICES, we get the following error:

    "Could not start the Windows Sharepoint Services Administration service on Local Computer,
    Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion."

    We cannot get to our Sharepoint Central Administration Page by anyother way until we restart this service.

    Any suggestions, hint or tips on this one.
