Cmv131 has it right. In case you can't see the Quick Launch navigation link because of configuration, you might see something called Navigation and under that, Tree View. Click the Navigation link and you'll get the configuration settings for your global and Quick Launch navigation. Scroll down...

I need a little clarification here. There is a link called People and Groups in the Quick Launch bar of your entrance page. You'd like to remove that from your entrance page.
