  • Workflows - Item.Update - modified by system account

Hi, I have developed a workflow for our document management. Every time an item/document is checked in (create and update event) the workflow starts. It checks some properties and creates a unique code for that document, depending on some required properties that are already filled in. Now this workflow...

  • Classes for use in Sharepoint

I want to develop some classes to use in Sharepoint. My first thought is that I need to develop this as a webpart with no presentation component - no CreateChild function , or at least no code in that procedure, then just add that webpart to the page or pages where I want to use the classes and functions...

  • Need Help Setting Up Site for Multiple Projects (beginner)

Being new to Sharepoint, I have a question regarding creating an effective MOSS 2007 environment for our Project group. The way they would like to have their site set up is to be able to track all projects - active and archived. Basically each project needs to have a document library, an action/task...

  • Personal Default View on a List

We are just starting to deploy SharePoint Server 2007 and I have a question about Default Views on a list. For example, on the Task list, the admin/owner has specified that the default view is "All Tasks". A Member (contributor access) wants to change their view to "My Tasks". Is...

  • Re: Updating a "lookup field" via workflow

I found how to change the selection to a single selected item. Now I just need to figure out how to "add" the new selection to what I already have selected. Meaning, in my form if I select multiple values in the list, my workflow is erasing what I've selected and selects the new word that...

  • Re: Too many Alerts

Management of alerts is one of the biggest pains there is from an End User perspective. How about taking a different approach... activate RSS on the lists and libraries affected, have your users register for the feeds and do away entirely with alerts. Just a thought. Mark EndUserSharePoint.com

  • Re: displaying only selected columns in webpart

This all works fine when you want to display a view from a list or library that is the current site, but you will run into problems when trying to display customized views from outside the current site. By default, the web part will only show the title. There is no way to point to a specific view or...

  • Re: How I can move a document between two document libraries?

Have you looked at using a Document Workspace ? This will allow you to have a document in a public library, work on it in a private, collaborative space, and then publish the update whenever you want. The benefits are that your End User can see the most current public updates while your team is still...
