Can I do Install Windows Updates after installing MOSS 2007?

Hi, I have installed MOSS 2007 on a Windows 2K3 Server. It had been running well, and Right now am not able to view my site. Is Windows Update the culprit? Please let me know one thing - Installing Windows Updates can bring down SharePoint Sites? Thanks much, Owens Jesse

I'm using the Page Viewer Web Part in WSS 3.0, and using the link to a .ppt file (.pps, .pptx, .ppsx, etc.) and it is not opening in the web part.
